THE FOREIGN OFFICE MAGAZINE

Born out of an assignment to design a new magazine, The Foreign Office is a quarterly journal covering literature from around the world. It is inspired by magazines like The Paris Review, Granta and n+1. Each issue of The Foreign Office is intended to explore a single country or culture. The mission is to spread compassion for other nations through the art of storytelling.

The program design for the cover allows for the swapping out of different elements to fit the country of interest in each issue. These elements include the emblem/seal of the country, the names of the writers, the issue number, the issue date, and the subtitle. The main element on the cover is an artwork from the region. In addition, the spine includes the nation’s flag, which is also updated for each issue.
